The Rabies Shot Requirement?

Posted on April 29, 2019

Hey guys
There’s a ‘thing’ about the rabies shot.
I can’t continue to see your critter without the rabies shot. True for my Dad, my brother, anyone else that I don’t want to have problems / run-ins with the human legal profession with. lol
You know that most dog won’t have / get / survive rabies and I do too.  Most dogs would be shredded in the process of contracting the disease from en eligible carnivore.
But my staff gets ‘pinned’ down with this – it’s not ‘them’ and it’s not about the money. You know that about me. We’re already doing a ton of stuff without putting you through ‘unnecessary’ expense – because we know she’s pretty sick (although maybe?)  But the Rabies thing isn’t flexible with the State.
We run into this ALL THE TIME especially with old timers.
What’s the Deal with the Rabies Requirement?
Read the above link and then you have to decide what you want to do. I think you will understand the uncomfortable position we’re in. And when I say ‘we’ I mean you and me both.
I know (maybe still) one vet that works with non vaccinated animals (by way of referral if desired) but that’s not by ‘decision’….it’s actually simply him not paying attention. And even then, he may have closed that gap in his liability.
Anyway
Reaching out with an explanation
Doc Johnson
